i am emotionally exhausted after that game. we dont get css down here but thanks to wrec am600, i can listen to the game on the radio over the internet. so i'm downstairs listening to the game with some guys who are playing madden on the tvs... i hear cdr make his shot plus the foul with 6 secs. left, he makes the free throw, and then i hear uab inbound the ball put up a shot and time expire. then the other announcer says hold on cause the refs blew the whistle.... THEN MY INTERNET GOES OUT AND WONT COME BACK ON! i only find out about 5 minutes later that uab missed that shot but made another just after time expired. thats too close but a win is a win. 25-0.
and did anybody see dwight howard's dunk contest performance? wow.
so today was by far the best day since i got here. i got to watch the pitchers and catchers run through their practice. we started off watching warmups then went to one of the fields to watch the catchers hit and got to stand right behind the cage. yeah, it was me, my boss, the director of minor league ops, director of baseball ops, the GM, the asst GM, and Tigers' manager jim leyland all leaning on the cage watching ivan rodriguez crush balls all over the place. can it get better? ... yes. then it was off to the bullpen where we were about 10 ft from dontrelle willis as he threw his set. verlander and last year's #1 pick porcello were out there throwing also. it was pretty awesome.
then it was off to the clubhouse to do laundry... i can fit ALL of my clothes into one of their washing machines and subsequently one of the dryers... and its safe to wash colors and whites together in there... so laundry only took about an hour which was great.
tomorrow is an off day for everybody so i get to sleep in, go to church, and chill the rest of the day. its supposed to be sunny and 80 degrees... nice.

Here is an abridged version then I guess. Glad you got this site. It will be a great way to keep up to date with all that is going on there. Glad to hear things are going well. So are you in the same dorms as the players? And if so is it all the players?
That game was just insane! We went crazy (all my guys for Dnow) when CDR hit that shot! You did miss though all the aftermath on the court. It got pretty ugly. Check out http://www.commercialappeal.com/photos/galleries/memphis-defeats-uab/

People are really saying that if it wasn't for 4 guys holding Dorsey back his career would be over b/c he would have been up in the stands beating people down! He looked possessed!
